Frequently asked questions
What Summer Camp Formats Are Available?
Our junior summer camp runs for up to 9 weeks with full-day, half-day, and extended care options. Beginners train at a 6:1 ratio while advanced juniors work in focused 4:1 groups with certified coaches. Cummer residents near Finch Avenue East and Bayview Avenue find the southbound drive to our courts fast.
Do You Offer Group Lessons for Adults?
Yes, our 8-week adult group programme runs at a 4:1 student-to-coach ratio for players at all levels. It suits professionals near Leslie Street and Finch Avenue East looking for quality tennis after work. Visit our adult group tennis lessons page for session times.
What Qualifications Do the Coaches Hold?
Director Peter Nielsen is a Tennis Canada National Coach with over 40 years experience and 17,000-plus students trained. Head Pro Roshun Razik brings Davis Cup and NCAA credentials alongside certifications from four countries. Ahmed Ahmed and Avery Nielsen complete the team with OTA qualifications and national-level experience.
How Do I Get to the Facility From Cummer?
Head south on Bayview Avenue from Finch Avenue East toward Sheppard Avenue East and Cresthaven Dr. The drive is typically around 10 minutes, passing near North York General Hospital and the East Don Parklands. Families from Newtonbrook take a similar route south along Bayview or Yonge.
Is There a Spring Programme for Kids?
The Junior Spring Program runs 8 weeks with 2 to 3 sessions per week building fundamentals for summer. Coaches develop stroke mechanics, footwork, and court positioning in skill-matched small groups. Check our junior spring programme page for dates and details.
What Community Spaces Are Near the Courts?
Cummer Park, Cummer Park Community Centre, and Newtonbrook Park are all close to our North York facility. North York General Hospital is also along the Bayview Avenue route between Cummer and our Cresthaven Dr courts. Families from Seneca Village pass these landmarks on the way to our sessions.
Can I Book Private Tennis Coaching?
Private and semi-private lessons are available seven days a week for juniors and adults at our facility. Coaches including Head Pro Roshun Razik tailor sessions to each player’s goals and development stage. Explore our private tennis lessons page for booking options.
Does the Camp Continue After Summer?
Our Fall Junior Program provides 6 weeks of continued training with 2 to 3 sessions per week on our courts. Coaches build on summer progress with tactical refinement and skill development through autumn. Players from Westminster-Branson and Cummer both enjoy fall sessions.
What Makes Your Group Sizes Different?
We maintain a 6:1 ratio for beginner players and a tighter 4:1 ratio for advanced juniors and adults. This ensures personalised feedback and adequate court time during every session at our revitalized courts. Cummer families appreciate the individual attention that small groups provide for their children.
